Job description

- Manages the complete shift with Team Leaders, and direct production employees.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure that all safety and quality goals are effectively met.
- Provide support in determining quality control standards and ensure that they are properly implemented and followed.
- Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary.
- Assist Production Manager in oversite of all hands on large-batch from-scratch production of all Bakery Ingredient (BI)
- Partners with Production Manager in managing and maintaining processes and procedures that effectively control production, packaging, sanitation and equipment maintenance for BI production.
- Assists in maintaining of Food Track; records formula updates for production specs when requested.
- Responsible for ensuring daily BI production meets established quality specifications and are consistently and efficiently produced.
- Implements all bakery production standards, food safety (HAACP) systems, certified organic systems, policies and procedures; ensure consistent follow through with staff.

- Monitor all aspects of the production cycle and ensure that any issues are troubleshot immediately.
- Notifies Production Manager of any situations relating to food safety, work safety, productivity, security or any other situation that may have an adverse effect on the facility.
- Suggest and implement cost-saving ideas.
- Allocate resources and duties to assigned staff members and ensure that they follow them properly.
- Enable effective communications between management and workers.
- Train new employees and coach existing employees.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Job requirement

- At least 3 years of experience in production management
- 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
- Experience in Food/ related industry is a plus
- Working knowledge of safety regulations, people management, ISO
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as as a group
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Leadership skills
